Dr Vinay Gupta
Research Fellow, University of Warwick
I am a postdoc on Commonwealth Rutherford Fellowship at the Mathematics Institute, University of Warwick while on leave from the SRM Research Institute & Department of Mathematics, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), where I was working as an Assistant Professor since September 2016.
Research Interests: Kinetic theory of molecular and granular gases.
Prior to this, I was a postdoc in the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization, Göttingen, Germany during January–August 2016 under the supervision of Dr. Marco G. Mazza. I earned my doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.) from RWTH Aachen University, Germany in 2015 under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Manuel Torrilhon and M.S. (Engineering) degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bengaluru, India in 2011 under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Meheboob Alam.
During my doctoral degree, I worked on mathematical modeling of rarefied gas-mixtures while on the kinetic theory of granular gases during my M.S. degree. I also earned M.Sc. (Applied Mathematics) degree from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India in 2007.
